Cookie Policy
Version 1.1 · Last updated 29 May 2026
1. About this policy
This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on iankafleerackers.com, what they do, how long they last, and how you can change your choices. It complements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.
This site is operated by ianka fleerackers Comm. V. (Nieuwstraat 84, 2880 Bornem, Belgium · VAT BE 0824.677.865). The legal framework is the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the Belgian implementation of the ePrivacy Directive (Article 129 of the Electronic Communications Act).
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site (or a third party) to remember information about you — your preferences, whether you are logged in, or how you use the site. Some cookies are essential for the site to work. Others are used for analytics, marketing, or to embed third-party services.
Similar technologies — such as local storage, session storage, and pixels — perform comparable functions. Where we use them, they are governed by the same rules as cookies.
3. The cookies we use
We aim to keep this site as cookie-light as possible. We set one strictly necessary first-party cookie ourselves; one third-party service (Airtable) may set cookies when you load the contact form; and Google Analytics sets analytics cookies only after you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner.
First-party cookies
Stores your choice from the cookie banner (accepted or essential-only) so we do not ask again on every visit.
Third-party cookies
Set when the contact form (embedded from Airtable) loads on /contact. Used by Airtable for session continuity and abuse prevention.
Analytics cookies — only after consent
Distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated client ID, so we can measure how the site is used. Only set after you choose “Accept all”.
Persists session state for our specific Analytics property (the suffix matches our measurement ID). Only set after you choose “Accept all”.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. The Google Analytics script and its cookies are loaded only if you choose “Accept all”. If you decline, no Google Analytics script is loaded and none of the _ga cookies are set.
We also use Vercel Analytics to count visits. It does not set cookies — it uses an anonymous, hash-based method that requires no personal identifiers — so it runs regardless of your banner choice.
What we do not set
We do not use Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, TikTok Pixel, or any other marketing or advertising tracker on this site. If we ever introduce a tool that sets marketing cookies, we will update this policy and ask for fresh consent before activating it.
4. Your choices
The cookie banner
When you visit the site for the first time, a banner at the bottom of the page presents two choices:
- Decline optional. Only strictly necessary cookies are stored, and Google Analytics is not loaded at all — no
_gacookies are set. The contact form on /contact is still embedded from Airtable; loading it may set Airtable's own cookies regardless of your choice here, because those are set by the iframe content itself. If this concerns you, you can email us directly at legal@iankafleerackers.com instead of using the form. - Accept all. In addition to the strictly necessary cookies, this loads Google Analytics 4, which sets the analytics cookies listed in section 3. It also covers any future analytics or embed tools we may add (subject to a renewed banner if they introduce a new category).
Your choice is saved for 12 months. After that, the banner appears again. You can also reset your choice at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser — the banner will then reappear on your next visit.
Browser-level controls
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Each browser is different — search for “cookies” in your browser's preferences. You can:
- See which cookies are currently stored.
- Delete cookies for a specific site, or for all sites.
- Block third-party cookies entirely.
- Set the browser to ask each time before storing a cookie (not recommended — it is disruptive to everyday browsing).
Tools like the EFF Privacy Badger or uBlock Origin can also block tracking automatically. We respect this — blocking will not break the site.
5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Google Analytics is loaded only when you actively choose “Accept all”. If you take no action, or you decline, no analytics script runs and no tracking cookies are set — so visitors who send a Do Not Track (DNT) signal or Global Privacy Control (GPC) and do not opt in are not tracked. Where technically possible we will continue to honour GPC as a signal not to load optional analytics.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves — for example, if we add a new tool that sets cookies, or change a provider. When we do, we update the version number and date at the top. For changes that introduce a new cookie category (analytics, marketing) we will show a renewed cookie banner before any new cookie is set.
7. Contact
For any question about this cookie policy, contact us at legal@iankafleerackers.com in English or Dutch.
